- First President of the Institute of Physics 1920 - 1921
- First Director of the National Physical Laboratory
- Editor of the Dictionary of Applied Physics
- The IOP instituted the 'Glazebrook Medal and Prize' in 1965 and in 2008 decided it should become one one of its Premier awards and a Gold medal
